Art projects
My art captures those moments of mindfulness that compel viewers to engage in practices meant to relieve mental stress and depression, as the world struggles through such obstacles. Mindfulness can be practiced anytime and anywhere, and the concept is straightforward: live in the present, be kind to yourself, and feel nature.
I go to the canvas liberated from assumption and open to all potential outcomes. Each painting creates a narrative that signifies spiritual energy, divine consciousness, and serenity. Through I Bow The Divine In You, the aim is to touch a sense of mutual respect and oneness of life whereas the narrative behind When Will This Be Over, shows the tension and irony of a pandemic through the interaction of the subject and its emotion. My classical Indian sand artwork, Rangoli, experiments with sand colors and other natural elements, such as flowers, wheat, and other grains to create colorful patterns. Rangoli has specific symmetric patterns that imply a sense of hope and happiness.
My creation process involves a balance of observation and imagination. I am particularly interested in the interplays between common, everyday life, and different perspectives of nature and human behavior. To begin, I capture digital images of different perspectives from various angles and depths. I then hand-draw the images and use saturated hues with varying levels of lightness to show emotions and ideas through acrylic paints and canvas.
My work is inspired by Henri Rousseau’s impressionist style. My journey as a painter is towards clarity, a simple expression of complex thoughts.
